Transparent Sourcing
We were delighted to feature recently in Image Magazine Ireland. Megan Burns captured our brand so well and wrote a fantastic piece, titled “This new Irish interiors brand puts transparent sourcing to the forefront”, link here.

We’re used to having any number of things just a few clicks away, but it’s only when you stop to think about it that you realise how little idea you have of where many of these items come from.
That’s why new Irish homeware retailer, Taylor & Gray, has taken a refreshing approach, clearly stating on their website where each item was made. The timeless range of textiles, ceramics and lighting are made by skilled artisans and craftspeople around Europe, such as England and Portugal.
This approach not only helps you buy with confidence of both the quality of the product, and the working conditions of those who made it, but it’s also one that has sustainability built-in.
Handcrafted products made from natural materials are an environmentally friendly choice, not only because of how they are made, but also because their quality means they will last, and can even be passed down.
As all the pieces are sourced from Europe, it also cuts down on transport emissions.
It is this idea that started the business, founder, Jessica Brickenden, explains.
“Furnishing my own home the last number of years, I was so fortunate to be gifted some authentic, timeless pieces from my mum, and grandparents. However, I found it difficult looking online to find similarly stylish but classic pieces that I would want to pass to my own children as heirlooms.
“That’s where the idea for Taylor & Gray originated. I wanted to source furniture and home decor pieces that were sustainable, not just in how they were made but which I knew would also stand the test of time.”
She also wanted to know where each product came from, and so has worked closely with makers, visiting their workshops virtually and in-person to find the perfect pieces.
Although only recently launched, Jessica already has plans to expand her range, and is working with an Irish craftsman to create a range of solid wood pieces including console tables, bedside tables, and mirrors, expected to launch early next year.”
